Keep in mind this is plastic. I tried finding out what it was made out of and was disappointed to see it is completely made of plastic, except for the locking mechanism. It is heavy duty plastic though. I tried to break a modem made out of this plastic, and it would take a lot of brute force to break it open. However, screwdriver to the hinge might do it too.It is useful for light duty. For example, you can give this to your kids, but dont use this like a home safe. This is useful when it comes to deterring someone from stealing your stuff but it will not prevent someone who is set on robbing you. It's purpose is to prevent someone from swiping something if they saw it in the open. If you go to the gym, this would be something nice to use incase someone opens your locker; they will see this locked to the locker and stop right there.
